Our Projects

We are realizing a trans-disciplinary approach integrating wisdom of Elderly people and curiosity of Young minds for new learning to promote active aging & Health in Elderly people and to provide quality education to underprivileged children.

1. Intergenerational Learning Centre- IGLC

This project seeks to provide curriculum support along with value education to children studying in Government Schools where they are mentored by elders, retired from various professions. Before productive engagement of Elders with school children they are given Training sessions and orientation on present education system & methodologies of teaching and learning by experienced faculty from NCERT and Government officials. Depending on the school requirement, IGLC classes are held within or post school hours.

Currently, IGLC is running in 7 Government Schools of Delhi and NCR, which is to be subsequently extended to 45 NDMC schools of Delhi in a phase-wise manner with financial support of Gandhi Smriti & Darshan Samiti (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India), ONGC and other CSR partners. IGLC Project was started in September 2017 and inaugurated by Padma Shri. Ram Bhadur Rai Ji.

2. Comprehensive Geriatric Mobile Heath Care Van- a 360 degree, Doctors at Doorstep Project for Old Age Homes

Visited about 200 old age homes (in India and abroad) to understand the problems of the poor elderly with meagre health care facilities. From problem to solution Comprehensive Geriatric Health Care Mobile Van was launched in October, 2018 by Lieutenant Governor Delhi Shri. Anil Baijal.

Geriatric Health Care Mobile Van visits 21 Old age homes and RWA’s well equipped with latest state-of the art facilities & basic laboratory along with MBBS doctor trained in Geriatric medicine, trained physiotherapist and staff in AIIMS, etc. Health care includes active screening of Non-communicable diseases, management and rehabilitation for age related diseases, Peer to Peer Counselling and Integration of Inter-generational bonds through senior people, school children & college students.

Old age homes and RWA’s are visited by Geriatric Mobile Van 7 days a week and treat approx. 100 patients every day.

3. Health Education

We conduct multiple campaigns, Walk-a-thons, Symposium and lecture series to sensitize people of all ages and from all walks of life. Till now, on a rough estimate we have sensitized approx. 20, 000 Young people from 50 Schools (Delhi, Gujrat, Uttar Pradesh, etc) on “Measures to keep to Your Grandparents Healthy” covering various preventive methodologies like vaccination, lifestyle modifications, proper and appropriate dieting, introducing simple but effective changes in the surroundings (like Grab bar, antiskid tiles in toilets, etc.), brain-teasing through computer and another social medium, etc. We have organized Walkathons in subsequent years- 2014, 2015 and 2016.

4. Mass Immunization (Vaccination) program

Pneumonia prevention Vaccination programs are held across at various locations of North India North India to immunize elders for pneumonia and to educate them & caregivers about the all-pervasive ailments like hypertension, diabetes, hypothyroidism, in addition special Cancer, etc. Dementia Awareness modules are included by Specialist Geriatricians, Doctors, Nurse Staff,volunteers, etc. to curb dementia/memory loss. Through Elderly Vaccination drives, we have immunized approx. more than 5000 vulnerable elderly people free of cost.

5. Health Camps

Health Camps are our one of the vehicle to reach elderly people, who are leaving in remote regions of the country. We have organized more than 50 Health camps over the last 6 years catering to about 40,000 elderly people, while directly extending the reach of Geriatric healthservices to remote areas of North India from Delhi, Rajasthan ( Bikaner- Indo Pak Border, Behror), Uttar Pradesh (Hapur, Khurja), Himachal Pradesh (Bilaspur), Gandhinagar, Hazaribagh and Madhya Pradesh (Bhind), etc..
